A typical song of the italo disco trend has contrasting stanzas and chorus and synthesizer background music. The most famous representatives are bands and performers such as: Savage, Ken Laszlo, P. Lion, Albert One, Radiorama, Valerie Dore, Sabrina, Scotch, Baltimora, Righeira, Ryan Paris, Spagna, Miko Mission, Mike Mareen, Silver Pozzoli, La Bionda, Gazebo, Eddy Huntington, Den Harrow.
However,Italian music is not only the aforementioned Italo Disco and moody ballads. Italy was not spared by the invasion of rock over roll in the 1950s and 1960s, a new post-war generation of young people for whom cultural and moral patterns coming from overseas, from the US, became an attractive alternative to the native musical tradition. The late 1960s saw the invasion of pop music and the emergence of new bands and performers who performed it: Caterina Caselli, Bobby Solo, Patty Pravo and, for the first time on this scale, youth bands: Equipe 84, Camaleonti, Giganti, Dik Dik, New Trolls. In Italian music, the West became permanently established, the influences coming from the USA and England, "modern" singing was long ago assimilated and accepted on the ground of Italian pop music and drawing on foreign patterns became commonplace.
