History of dance music
However, the history of dance is more intricate, as traditionally its first representation was folk music and dance in the broadest sense (yes exactly folk, but let's not forget that it is a very broad genre, which includes our Polish dances such as Polka or Oberek, as well as Latin Samba, Pagode and Forró). It can be considered that dance is the first and oldest musical genre, as people danced from the moment they discovered music, and what follows was present in every historical era, only the instrument and the current fashion of the dances changed. In the modern sense, dance appeared at the end of the 19th century, and it is hard to determine at this point whether the name of dance or music came first, such 19th / 20th century popular types of music and at the same time accompanying dances were: waltz, tango, bolero, can-can, minuets, salsa, cha-cha-cha. This was due to the fact that they were not danced exclusively in salons, but began to penetrate the wider public, some of which became a regular feature of dances.
New Italio Disco
New Italio Disco is another genre that falls into the category of dance music, as to its origin there are some contradictions, some claim that it originated from Italio Disco and others that from Eurodance. The main difference between this genre and Eurodance is the lack of rapped interludes and no longer only optimistic themes. One of the treatments used in songs of this type is the electronic coldness of the singer's voice. The main representatives are Gigi d'Agostino, Prezioso and Natasha Hagen.
Epic house
The next genre that is part of the dance music trend is contemporary dance music derived from house music, or Epic house. Most of these songs are sung and have a clear, catchy melodic line, and are fast and rhythmic. Among the songs of this genre we find many covers and remixes, mostly of songs from the 1980s. Some of the best-known representatives of this genre are DJ Sammy, Groove Coverage, Novaspace, Vinylshakerz.
Dance music in Poland
Dance music in Poland is often confused with Disco Polo, however, unlike that genre, it has deeper, more meaningful lyrics, and some life advice can also be found in it. At one point in his career (when he returned to the stage) even Krzysztof Krawczyk or Agnieszka Chylińska was created in this style .
