Music video description
When You're Gone is a song by the musical duo of Canadian musician Bryan Adams and Melanie C. known from the band Spice Girls. The song, written by Adams and Eliot Kennedy, comes from the artist's eighth studio album, 1998's On a Day Like Today, and was released by A&M Records. It gained international fame soon after, reaching No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart and No. 4 in Australia. Adams' dream was to have Sheryl Crow, who unfortunately did not respond to the musician's invitation, sing a duet with him.
The music video for When You're Gone was released in 1998. It shows Bryan Adams and Melanie C, who are trapped in a large house and singing the song against the backdrop of a narrow, green-lit hallway. Quick camera movements capture the space created by the rooms separating them, where they always appear separately and never together.
In 2005, for the release of the USA Anthology greatest hits album, Bryan Adams decided to record the song When You're Gone once again, this time as a duet with Canadian actress Pamela Anderson. The song was another fairly big hit for the artist.
