Music video description
Candy Dulfer is a Dutch alto saxophonist who plays smooth jazz. Her song Candy Dulfer - Lily Was Here is a single released in November 1989 and it came from the soundtrack of the Dutch film "De Kassiere." Its main character was actually Lily, who was played by Marion van Thijn (daughter of the then mayor of Amsterdam). Candy was invited to join by David A. Stewart, who suggested that she play the saxophone. The single became a hit and stayed at No. 1 on the charts in the Netherlands for five weeks. Encouraged by this success, Dulfer decided to also release the single in the UK, the US and other European penalties. There, too, it topped the local charts, and also did well in the difficult U.S. market. This encouraged the artist to release her own first album, "Sexuality." "Lily Was Here" also appears in the soundtrack of the film "Mystery Date" and the 11th episode of the TV series "Sunshine Patrol" season 2.
Instead of a video performance from the show, I've included the single's release date in the title.
