"Brothers in Arms" is the 1985 album and song title of the British band Dire Straits. Both the song and the album were extremely popular. The lyrics were written by Mark Knopfler and inspired by the experiences of his father, who was a volunteer in the Israeli army. The song has very strong anti-war overtones, seen clearly in the music video. The song has been used in a number of films and TV shows, including the TV series "Miami Cops," "Down South" and "Presidential Poker," as well as the movie "Spy Game."
