Music video description
The song "Let's Groove" comes from the group's eleventh studio album Earth, Wind & Fire, released in 1981. Its authors are Wayne Vaughn and Maurice White, who is also responsible for the song's production. Despite the fact that disco music was going through quite a crisis in the 1970s and 1980s, the band decided to reach for this sound, revive it and put it in their songs. Musically, the hit song "Let's Groove" mixes disco, post-disco, pop and funk styles and features instrumentation of synthesizers, keyboards and electric guitar.
The song was a major commercial success becoming the band's best-selling single in the international music market. It debuted in the top 20 of the charts in many countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada. The video for the song "Let's Groove" was the first to be played on the Video Soul BET service. It is rich in electronic effects and maintained in a vintage style. It was directed by Ron Hays, who created it with the help of the Scanmate analog computer system at Image West.
