Music video description
The hit song "Twenty Flight Rock" was performed by Eddie Cochran in the 1956 film comedy "The Girl Can't Help It" (Polish title "Blonde and I"). The song was published in 1957 and was written by Ned Fairchlid and Eddie Cochran, who was mainly responsible for the music.
The first version of the song, "Twenty Flight Rock," was recorded in July 1956 at Gold Star Studios with Connie Smith on fiddle and Jerry Capehart rhythmically hitting a soup carton. A later version of the 1957 single was released as a single in the US with the song "Cradle Baby" on the B-side. The song enjoyed moderate popularity in the US and considerable popularity in Europe. The lyrics tell the story of a boy whose girlfriend lives on the 20th floor. The elevator in the building does not work, which forces a climb up the stairs and a lot of fatigue before the man appears on her doorstep.
As a point of interest, it is worth mentioning that the then fifteen-year-old Paul McCartney used the song "Twenty Flight Rock" at his audition for Johna Lennona in the lick of 1957 in Liverpool, England. Paul took a liking to Lennon, who was impressed by his guitar playing skills. McCartney was soon invited to join Lennon's band, which eventually became the famous The Beatles.
