Edvard Hagerup Grieg - Morning Mood

"Peer Gynt" is the title of both the music for Henrik Ibsen's drama and the two suites of the same name compiled from it. The author of the music is Edvard Hagerup Grieg. I want to present to you the first of the two suites, or more precisely its first part "Morning." The piece is an introduction to the fourth act of Ibsen's drama. The scene is set in Africa, but Grieg's sunrise, considered one of the most beautiful in music, has a Scandinavian tone.
