The Etude in C minor, Op. 10, No. 12, is also known as the "Revolutionary Etude," and was composed by Frederic Chopin in 1831. It is one of Chopin's most famous works and requires extraordinary skill from the performer. According to tradition, it was supposed to have been composed after Chopin learned of the fall of the November Uprising, in which the composer was unable to participate because he was in Vienna at the time.
