Music video description
"Got My Mind Set On You" is a song written and composed by Rudy Clark, which was originally recorded by James Ray in 1962 under the same title. The song is better known in its version by George Harrison, who first heard it while visiting his sister in the U.S. in 1963. He bought James Ray's album and began recording his own, slightly modified version of the song at Friar Park studios.
"Got My Mind Set On You" is the only song in Harrison's repertoire that he did not write or compose himself. The song lived to see two music videos, directed by Gary Weis. In the first version, Danisofa's Alexis tries to win the heart of an arcade girl, while the girl flirtatiously glances at Harrison and his band in a movie theater. The second video was inspired by the film Deadly Evil II. In it, Harrison plays his guitar while sitting on the study, and as the song progresses both the furniture and other trinkets begin to sing and dance. This version is much more popular and received three MTV VMA nominations. In this post I would like to introduce you to version number one.
