Music video description
The song "Paloma Blanca" also known as "Una Paloma Blanca" is a song written by Dutch musician George Baker and first recorded and released by the artist's band called George Baker Selection. The song became the title single from the group's fifth studio album and very quickly became a hit throughout Europe. It reached the top of the charts in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and even South Africa.
The original hit "Paloma Blanca" also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Easy Listening Singles chart on February 14, 1976, followed by No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 33 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. The single sold more than two million copies worldwide. George Baker said in an interview that his hit song "Paloma Blanca" tells the story of a poor South American farmer who works hard all day and in the evenings sits under a tree and dreams of being a white bird who can enjoy his freedom.
The song "Paloma Blanca" has been remixed and parodied many times. Many world artists have recorded their covers of this song, with varying commercial success. And the song's title itself, "Paloma Blanca," on the other hand, means white pigeon in Polish translation.
In this post, I invite Wan to hear this song performed by Georgie Dann's band.
