"Real Wild Child (Wild One)" or simply "Wild One" is a song that was written by Johnny Greenan, Johnny O'Keefe and Dave Ownes. The single was released on July 5, 1958, a date that is considered the beginning of Australian rock and roll. The band's version of Iggy Pop is a cover, which was included on the group's 1986 studio album titled Blah-Blah-Blah. The song became a huge hit, charting, for example, at number 10 on the UK singles chart in January 1987 swarm. In Canada, it stayed on the charts for as many as 20 weeks, while also reaching number 27 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart in the United States. However, the song "Wild One" recorded its greatest popularity in New Zealand, where it reached number one and became the biggest hit of the year.
