Music video description
Joseph Ira Dassin is an American-born French singer and songwriter. Born in 1938 in New York, his father was a film director while his mother was involved in music and was a cellist. It is worth mentioning here that his father had Polish roots. His parents decided to leave the U.S. after his father ended up on "The Hollywood blacklist," a list published in the 1940s of names of people associated with the film industry or so-called show business in general, i.e. directors, screenwriters, producers or actors who were denied cooperation because of their political views. The controversy was that these were often only suspicions and not the declared views of the individuals in question. After touring various European countries, the family finally decided to settle in France. And it was there that Joe Dassin, already a grown man, began his musical career. His songs conquered not only the French charts, the artist was popular throughout Europe or even in the United States. Today he is considered one of the most important figures from the world of French music, and some time ago I had the opportunity to introduce you to other famous hits of this artist such as Salut or Taka Takata. I cordially invite you to watch and listen to another very famous hit of this artist, namely the song Et Si Tu N'Existais Pas.
