Music video description
"Taj Mahal" is a song from the repertoire of Brazilian musician Jorge Duilio Lima Menezes known as Jorge Ben Jor or Jorge Ben. The song comes from the man's ninth studio album, titled "Ben," which was released in 1972. The song is one of the most popular in the musician's entire artistic output.
Jorge Ben skillfully combines samba, funk, rock music and bossa nova, which he intertwines with lyrics full of humor and satire. Without a doubt, he can be considered one of the most important figures in the Brazilian music scene. Billboard magazine even called him the father of samba and rock. As an interesting note, it is worth mentioning that Jorge Ben filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement of the song "Taj Mahal". This is because he claimed that the song "Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?", which he recorded Rod Stewart in 1978, is a plagiarism of his famous hit. The case was settled amicably, but in 2012 Stewart wrote in his biography that he had unwittingly committed plagiarism.
