"Love Will Tear Us Apart" is a 1980 song by the British rock band Joy Division. There is a story associated with this song, the lyrics of which were written by the band's singer Ian Curtis. It was written when things were not going well in Curtis' marriage, and he was struggling with his feelings for a girl he met at one of the concerts. Because of this song, the singer's wife wanted to divorce him. It did not come to fruition because the singer committed suicide. At his wife's request, the title of the featured song was engraved on his tombstone. The music video for it was made after Curtis' death.
