Music video description
Ottawan is a French groove music band, formed in Paris in 1979. Despite the name being associated with Canada, the band was formed by artists of Caribbean origin Jean Patrick (born April 6, 1954) and Anette (born November 1, 1958). The group's founders and producers were Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger. Vangarde also worked with bands and artists such as Dalida, the Gibson Brothers and Sheila & B. Devotion. The producers decided on the band's name while returning from a tour in Canada. In 1980, the band launched the Ottawan hit D.I.S.C.O., which became a huge hit in Europe, staying in the charts for 18 weeks. Another hit for the band was the song "Hands Up" which reached number three in the UK and remained on the charts for 15 weeks. In recent years, Jean Patrick has reorganized the band and toured extensively with new partner Tamara.
