Music video description
In recent days Mr. Przemyslaw wrote to me with interesting music video suggestions. He made a rather valid comment that there are very few music videos of the legendary band Queen on the site. I also received proposals for music videos of this very group. Of course, requests for music videos I try to meet as far as possible. And this time I also succeeded. First on fire goes the first official music video in history namely Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody. I would like to emphasize and draw your attention to the fact that it is this music video that is considered the first music video in the history of music. So what is the history of this song? Well, the band Queen was invited to the Top of the Pops program on the BBC. Unfortunately, they were playing a tour at the same time. The band members were reluctant to perform from a playback so they decided to record a promotional video. The director of the first-ever music video was Bruce Gowers. He managed to use the band members' ideas and so the first music video was recorded at Elstree Studios in 1975. The shooting of the music video lasted 4 hours and the whole thing reportedly cost 4,500 pounds. The version of the music video I would like to present to you is its second version. It is available on "Greatest Video Hits I" (on the second disc) and on the A Night At The Opera DVD released to celebrate the album's 30th anniversary. The video is very similar to the previous one, only different shots were used and the characteristic "four heads" scene was included at the beginning. The idea for such a shot came from the inspiration of a photo of Marlene Dietrich emerging from the darkness. Finally, as a curiosity at the end, I will mention that the piano that can be seen in the video on which Freddie Mercury plays was also used by Paul McCartney during the recording of Hey Jude.
