I Want to Break Free is a song by British band Queen, which was written by the band's bassist John Deacon. The song was included on Queen's Works album in 1984. The hit had three versions that differed in length. The song is largely known for its interesting music video, for which all the band members dressed up in women's costumes. The idea was suggested by Roger Taylor. Given that the parody was recognized in the UK, it caused controversy in the US and was banned by MTV and other stations.
