Ram Jam - Black Betty

Ram Jam is an American rock band formed in 1977 in New York. As for me, it is a one hit band, and it is this hit that I would like to remind you of today. In addition, the band came into being because of this song, as the song was originally recorded by Bill Bartlett with the band Starstruck. The song quickly gained popularity in local clubs where they played their music. Additionally, the song appealed to New York music producers enough that they followed suit and initiated the formation of the Ram Jam band. Then, with the support of major record labels, the song "Black Betty" became a worldwide hit. Few people know, however, that the song "Black Betty" itself was originally recorded in 1938 by African-American singer Leadbelly. However, it was in a different style at the time and almost 40 years later was reworked into a rock song. In addition, his version of this song was recorded by Tom Jones, among others, and I will also try to add his version to Muzolandia.
