Music video description
Rod Stewart is a British singer, whom I don't need to introduce to anyone, but on the occasion of adding to Muzolandia one of his greatest hits, I would like to give you a little insight into the character of Sir Roderick David Stewart. Because that is the artist's real name and the prefix Sir was there for a reason. Well, in 2007 this artist was honored with the highest order of the British Empire. The singer was born in 1945 in Highgate, which is a suburb of London. The singer's musical output is truly impressive, consisting of 30 studio albums and almost 150 singles. In today's post I would like to remind you of one of the singer's biggest hits. A song that has received many remakes, remixes and has been performed by many other artists over the past 40 years. The younger generation might not even know that the song was originally written by Rod Steward in 1978. It refers to Rod Stewart 's big hit - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? from the album "Blondes Have More Fun." Few people also know that Rod Steward, in creating this hit together with Carmine Appice and Duane Hitching, used the melody from the 1972 song "Taj Mahal" performed by Jorge Ben Jor. The song "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" also features the musical theme from the song "Put Something Down On It" which was recorded by Bobby Womack in 1975. Many people believed, including Jorge Ben Jor himself, that Rod Steward had committed plagiarism by using his musical piece in his song. However, the conflict with this artist was amicably resolved in favor of the aggrieved artist. As for the used excerpts from the second song I mentioned, according to Rod Steward, he may have used small excerpts and it was not plagiarism. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the royalties for the song were donated to UNICEF and Rod Steward himself sang at a charity concert organized by the organization.
