Music video description
"Get Up and Boogie" is a song by German disco band Silver Convention, which comes from their 1976 album of the same name. The song was written and composed by Sylvester Levaya and Stephan Prager, who is also responsible for the production. As was the case with the group's previous single, Fly, Robin, Fly, the song "Get Up and Boogie" also features lyrics consisting of just a few words that are repeated throughout the song.
The song "Get Up and Boogie" was quite a commercial success, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976 and No. 1 on the charts in Canada. The song became a hit on the disco scene in the late musical 1970s. In 2000, the song was given new life and appeared in commercials for snuggie, or blankets with sleeves.
