Music video description
Talk Talk is an English synth-pop rock band formed in 1981. Formed by four friends, the band was initially not a worldwide success and was known mainly in their native Britain. It wasn't until 1984 with the release of the single It's My Life that the world heard about them and the song itself began to appear on European charts. In today's post I'd like to introduce you to this song in some detail. Their worldwide career began with this song and was followed by other hits such as Such A Shame and "Life's What You Make It." The band broke up in 1992 after some members decided to leave the band. The last five years of its existence were a time of various musical experiments by them, but none of their songs were a worldwide success at the time. In the early days of the band Talk Talk they were often compared to another English group Duran Duran. This probably came from the similar name of the band, but also from the reasons for using the same record label or the services of the same music producer. However, returning to the song Talk Talk - It's My Life it is worth mentioning that two different music videos were recorded for it. In the first, you can see shots of wildlife combined with footage from the London Zoo, where one of the band members can be seen standing in a coat with his hands in his pockets. Despite the fact that he was the vocalist, in the video you can see that he stands mainly with his mouth closed, sometimes additionally these lips are covered with black lines. These lines also sometimes appear in the nature shots themselves. The video was meant to draw the public's attention to the all-too-frequent use of the technique of synchronizing lip movements with other background music just to hide the vocal shortcomings of the singers.
