Music video description
"Lovefool" is a song that was written by Peter Svensson and Nina Persson for the Swedish rock band The Cardigans. The song was included on the group's third studio album titled "Band on the Moon" in 1996. It was commercially successful, debuting at number two in the UK charts. In North America, it reached third place, while in Canada and on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay Chart it reached second place. The song appears in the 1997 film Romeo and Juliet, the 1999 film Cruel Intentions (School of Seduction) and the 2007 comedy Virgin Territory (Decameron).
Nina Persson wrote "Lovefool" on an airplane while she was waiting for a plane. The song's lyrics are quite sad and deal with love. The woman said in an interview that its meaning is quite pathetic, and that the greatest hits are those that are written most easily. The band quickly saw the commercial potential of the song.
Two music videos were made for the song "Lovefool." One was dedicated to the people of the UK and Europe and had a somewhat somber tone. Geoff Moore was responsible for directing the second video and was shot in New York.
