"Tonight She Comes" by the American band The Cars comes from their 1985 album Greatest Hits. In October, the song was selected as a single, and in January it reached No. 7 on the "Billboard Hot 100" chart. The song stayed at No. 1 on the "Top Rock Tracks" list for three weeks. Its author is the band's singer and guitarist Ric Ocasek, who originally planned to use the song to build his solo career.
Tonight She Comes is the fourth hitem zespołu The Cars. AllMusic music critic Greg Prato called the song hilarious, while Tim Sendra (also of AllMusic) said the song is definitely an essential part of the entire "Greatest Hits" album. It's a relatively simple song, with Eliott Easton's guitar solo making a big impact. The single was recorded over a four-week period, which gave the musician plenty of time to write and work out his impressive solo.
