The song has been reworked and covered many times, with the most successful being by the band Love Affair, fronted by singer Steve Ellis. The band's version of Love Aff air reached No. 1 on the British charts on January 1, 1868, and far surpassed the commercial success of the original performance.
Love Affair's version of the hit "Everlasting Love" was produced by Muff Windwood and recorded at Island Studios. The song debuted in the TOP 50 of the UK Singles Chart and reached number one very quickly. The song was very popular throughout Europe in 1968, but failed to repeat that success in the United States.
