Music video description
"Your Love" is a song from the repertoire of the rock band originating from England, The Outfield. The song was included on the group's 1985 debut studio album called "Play Deep," and was written by guitarist John Spinks. The song was very popular in the United States, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 7 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 1986.
The song's author John Spinks lived in East London and invited the band's singer Tony Lewis to his apartment to write together. The two created the sound of "Your Love" on the veranda of the apartment. Lewis reportedly sat in on the amplifier, while Spinks began writing the initial lyrics. The entire process reportedly took twenty minutes. The song's lyrics are not reflected in reality, Josie is not a real person, and the story was invented.
The video for the song "Your Love" was directed by Jon Jopson. His concept was that the band would shoot such a video with a painting theme, referring to the album cover from which the song comes. The video was shot in Astoria, New York, during one day. The video was first added to MTV's schedule on February 19, 1986, where it quickly gained popularity.
