Music video description
The hit song "Be My Baby" was written by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector, and was recorded in 1963 at Gold Star Studios Hollywood by the American group Ronettes. The song was released as a single in August and later included on the debut album Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes in 1964.
Music critics agree that it is one of the best songs of the 1960s. In 1999, "Be My Baby" was featured in the Grammy Hall of Fame, while in 2004 the song was ranked at an honorable 22nd place on Rolling Stones magazine's list of the 500 best songs of all time. In 2017, Billboard placed "Be My Baby" at number one in its list of the 100th best group songs of all time.
As a point of interest, the song "Be My Baby" appears in the opening sequence of the 1987 film "Dirty Dancing." And Amy Winehouse borrowed the melodic and lyrical parts of the Ronettes' song in its single "B Boy Baby."
