Music video description
An energetic song by the American band Twisted Sister, full of rock rhythms, from their album "Stay Hungry." The number was first released as a single (with "You Can't Stop Rock & Roll" as the B-side) on April 27, 1984. The album "Stay Hungry" saw the light of day two weeks later, on May 10, 1984. The single reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the only single to receive such high praise and recognition for a song by the band. The song was ranked #47 on the Top 100 Songs of the 80s and #20 on the VH1 Hit Wonders of the 80s Top 100 Songs list. The single has gone gold in the US since 1984, selling more than 500,000 copies.
The success of the track is certainly due in large part to the music video. Here we have a typical slapstick comedy. The song depicts the age-old father-son conflict. The father makes a ruckus to his son that he is only interested in music and guitar. "Do you want to do something with your life? - he asks. The son replies: "I want to rock!" These words trigger a sudden gust of wind from the windows. And the singer of Twisted Sister appears in the house. The video was so imaginative and innovative that it appeared in several advertising spots and promotional videos. Check it out!
