U2 video - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own is a song by rock band U2, from its 2004 album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb." It was released as the second single to promote that album and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on February 7, 2005. The song was originally to be titled "Tough." In 2006, the song won two Grammy Awards. The song was written by Bono; the lyrics are a tribute to his father, who died in 2001. The song's video begins with the note, "I wish I'd known him better," addressed to him.
