"Requiem in D minor KV 626 (Funeral Mass)," created in 1791, is one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's greatest sacred works and his last unfinished composition. The mass was commissioned by an anonymous principal, who immediately paid Mozart the requested fee. When composing the Requiem, he was already very ill and the work came with difficulty, however, he was still trying to complete his work on the day of his death, December 5, 1791.
