"The Magic Flute" is a two-act opera with a libretto written by Emanuel Schikaneder and music composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was premiered on September 30, 1791 at Schikaneder's theater in Vienna. The Polish premiere took place in Warsaw, in 1793. "The Magic Flute" has evolved from a purely fantastical fairy tale into a story hiding deep humanistic values on the one hand and free-spirited symbolism on the other.
