The band Perfect is winding down after nearly 40 years. The musicians posted a special statement on social media, which became their farewell to their fans. In the statement we can also read about the reasons for the decision.
Perfect is a band without which it is difficult to imagine the history of Polish rock music. Back in the 1980s, the group launched such hits as "Don't Cry Ewka," "We Want to Be Ourselves," "But w koło jest wesoło" or "Autobiography." The band Perfect has suspended its activities several times in the past. The latest and final incarnation reactivated in 1993. Compared to the previous incarnation, this time the band appeared without the participation of Zbigniew Holdys - co-founder and author of most of the compositions. During this period Perfect served fans with several more big hits such as "Kołysanka dla nieznajomej" and the song "Niepokonani" at the top. Perfect recorded a total of nine studio albums and several live albums. The band's last album was titled "Music" and was released in 2016.
The last song released by Perfect was the song "Voice: from 2020. The group planned to play four farewell concerts to immortalize a successful stage career and close the next stage in the band's history. However, the planned performances came to a halt after the band's leader, Grzegorz Markowski, issued a statement that he would not be attending for health reasons. The other members of the band, however, had planned to play concerts. Today, however, it was revealed that the band will not appear on stage in Gliwice, Poznan, Wroclaw and Gdansk, as it has decided to definitively end its activities, without saying goodbye to the public from the stage.
In a statement issued by the band, we can read:
We have played for you faithfully for the past 40 years. However, everything must have an end. Perfect too. We are not saying goodbye to you from the stage, as we wanted, because the time to say goodbye came unexpectedly - Grzegorz Markowski made the decision to leave the band. Nothing and no one can change this anymore. We thank you for all these years together. The Perfect band is leaving to history, but our music will remain with you forever.
Fans received the band's decision with sadness. However, the musicians received many thanks, and Internet users appreciated the artistic output that the Perfect band had accumulated over four decades of stage activity.
